Google Just Slammed the Door on Every Window Covering Retailer
According to industry experts, Google just made it increasingly more difficult for a Window Covering Retailer to land on Page One. Fortunately, there is a solution. Let me explain. My name is Steven Dale, and I am a Window Covering Expert and a Digital Marketing Expert.
The problem starts with a search on Google for any type of window covering. Google removed the paid ads on the right side of the page. What used to be 3 ads at the top is now 4 paid ads. The ads now include site extensions like hours, reviews, and directions, taking up, even more, page one real estate.
The next issue is the all-important Google Map. That map used to display 7 listings, but now it’s 3. To make matters even worse, the map is going to stay at 3, but the top listing will be a paid ad.
Due to all this, 5 out of 5 of the top results are paid ads through the AdWords Network. So what’s a window covering retailer to do?
Part of the solution is Google AdWords. AdWords is the best marketing tool EVER for window covering retailers.
It’s measurable and predictable. We can track a person who clicks on your ad, goes to your website, and if they call you, you’ll know it. Try that with any other advertising platform. Plus, you receive reports on all your activity. These reports are like having a spy at Google. They tell you what clients were searching for, what ad they clicked, and how many of them called you. It’s fantastic.
